Running from January 6, 2020 through April 1, 2020, Bossard's Adult Winter Reading Program, "Once Upon a Time", offers our adult patrons the opportunity to win prizes by reading or listening to their favorite books.
Participants who read/listen to 5 books will win their choice of either a small notebook/pen set and two bookmarks or a Bossard bookbag.
For every book read, participants will earn a ticket for a chance to win one of 6 themed baskets, with a maximum of 25 tickets per participant. Each basket contains items worth up to between $85-$95.
Tickets may be used on as many or as few of the six baskets as a participant chooses. The more tickets you drop in the bag in front of your favorite basket, the more chances you have to win.
Baskets are available to be viewed on the table near the main entrance. The six themes are:
- Grill 'Em -- items for the grill or for grilling
- A Wee Bit of Scotland -- items related to Scotland
- Afternoon Tea at Downton Abbey -- items related to or pertaining to Downton Abbey
- Ohio State All the Way -- items featuring Ohio State
- My Hometown -- items from / made in Gallia County
- From Season to Season -- 2 grapevine wreaths (one Spring, one Winter) purchased from Floral Fashions
Only books and audiobooks borrowed from Bossard Library will count for tickets and prizes. E-books and audioboks borrowed from the Ohio Digital Library and Hoopla are also eligible.
April 1 is the last day to receive the 5-book prize or place tickets in the bags. The drawing for winners of the baskets will be held on the afternoon of April 2 and winners will be notified by phone.
Please note: You MUST have your reading log with you in order to receive your 5-book prize and any tickets earned.
