Running from January 13, 2025 through April 14, 2025, Bossard Library's Adult Winter Reading Program, "Leap Into a Good Book", offers our adult patrons the opportunity to win prizes by reading and/or listening to their favorite books.
Participants who read/listen to 10 books will receive a cork trivet (while supplies last).
For every book read, participants will earn a ticket for a chance to win one of 6 themed baskets, with a maximum of 25 tickets per participant.
Each basket contains items worth between $100 - $150.
Tickets may be used on as many or as few of the six baskets as a participant chooses. The more tickets you drop in a bag in front of your favorite basket, the more chances you have to win.
Baskets are available to be viewed on the table near the main entrance. The six themes are:
- Buckeye Bash -- head to a tail gate party with your camp chair. Make sure to take your Ohio State playing cards, jigsaw puzzle, and giant checkers game with you in case anyone wants to play before the game gets started. Other items also included.
- Breakfast in Bed -- enjoy the luxury of having a scrumptious breakfast in bed featuring pancakes, syrup, jam, the drink of your choice and a cozy blanket. Other items also included.
- It's Not Easy Being Green -- Kermit says to grab up your green weekender bag for a quick get-away. Make sure to take your retro bluetooth speaker, your portable charger, your warm blanket, and your Nessie bookmark. Other items also included.
- Pamper Yourself -- take time for you -- indulge yourself with a foot soak and massage, untense those shoulders with a wrap heating pad, use various lotions and scrubs to pamper your skin. Other items also included.
- Pleasures of Reading -- enjoy reading your favorite books with a Kindle 8 and a Kindle page turner while you snuggle under a book blanket. Display your love of books with a neon sign and a book bag. Other items also included.
- Book Nerd -- plug in your book neon sign, lean back against your Story Book pillow with blanket and enjoy reading your favorite author on your Kindle 8 with a Kindle page turner. Other items also included.
Visit the library to view the baskets and a list of their contents.
Only books and audiobooks borrowed from Bossard Library will count for tickets and prizes. E-books and digital audiobooks borrowed from the Ohio Digital Library and Hoopla are also eligible. Books borrowed through interlibrary loan via SEO are eligible as well as books read for the Bossard Book Club and the Civil War Book Club.
April 14 at 8:00 PM is the last day to receive the 10-book prize or place tickets in the bags. The drawing for winners of the baskets will be held the afternoon of April 15 and winners will be notified by phone.
The registration sheet and reading logs are located on the table near the prize table at the main entrance.
When you finish a book/books, stop by the front desk with your reading log to have a member of the staff give you your tickets and check off that you have received them.
Please note: You MUST have your reading log with you in order to receive your 10-book prize or any tickets earned.
A valid Bossard Library card is required to participate in this program.
